Enhanced Weather Response Program – Join Us

The Alamo City GMRS Weather Team is building a strong GMRS-based
weather response team, and we’re looking for people who want to help when
storms get serious. Our coverage area is wide, and we’re organizing it into zones
so volunteers can share real-time reports on things like hail, flooding, wind
damage, and dangerous conditions. Your eyes and ears on the ground can make
a real difference in weather safety in the San Antonio area.

During active weather, a Net Coordinator will be watching professional radar
and weather data and combining that with live reports from the field, so everyone
has the best possible information when it matters most.

Training starts January 10 and runs every two weeks through early May,
depending on the training level you select. We’ll cover how to identify severe
weather, report clearly, work safely, use disciplined radio practices, and operate
confidently as a team.

If you’re interested in learning, serving, and being part of something that truly
helps the community, we’d love to have you with us.
