As someone who is just learning about SDR, where do you start? What equipment do you need to purchase and what software is needed? I see these cheap USB SDR dongles on Amazon that come with a couple of antennas, and they are only about $50, but is that going to be sufficient to get started? Looking for any guidance I can get.

I’m going to suggest to talk with Drew (WRTT768).. He has a weekly SDR Net on the .625 repeater in San Antonio. He also has a Facebook group as well called: “SATX SDR”.. Link for the FB group is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/699881639713187

I sent Drew an email last night. I don’t do social media like Facebook, so I will just see what he has to say and go from there. Thank you.
